SFLC has many partners that provide funds and other valuable services:
SIUE Institute for Urban Research, Washington Universities Brown's School for Social Work; the major financial supporters of the overall operations have been the Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church, the East St. Louis Community Development Block Grant, and the Enterprise Foundation.
Youth programs are supported with grant monies from the Greater St. Louis Regional Empowerment Zone, United Way of America and the UPS Foundation.
The Enterprise Foundation collaborated on the pre-development planning, founding and activating of the Sinai Development Corporation.
The Children Home Aid Society of Illinois (CHASI) subsidizes the tuition of the latchkey and day camp programs for families who qualify.
The Illinois State Board of Education Food Program provides food for the latchkey and day camp programs.
Schools in School District 189 refer students to the latchkey program.
Government officials, social services agents, health professionals, law officers, fire fighters and other community resource personnel conduct the informational seminars for seniors and group guidance sessions for youths.
The Black Repertory Theater provides group discount rates to our seniorsCardinal Ball team/Busch Stadium provides free passes for seniors to attend Cardinal Games. Technical assistance in organizing events was provided by the following:Illinois Treasurers Office—Women's Conference (financial literacy) Illinois Governor's Office—Women's Conference (health initiative) Southern Illinois Regional Wellness Clinic—Health Screenings for men U. S. Bank—mini courses on budgeting and credit repair
Our primary responsibility for these events was marketing the event, securing the place, and providing the audience.
State/local officials and other community leaders participate in "Sinai Fest."
Local businesses donate prizes for "Sinai Fest."
